3RD YEAR GIJ STUDENT, MANASSEH TO RECEIVE HIS AWARDSHIP MAJOR QUASHIGAH GHANA ORATORY AND LEADERSHIP AWARD FOR YOUNG SCHOLARS.

The Country Awards Council, Ghana is to honour a 3rd Year Student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism; Mr. Manasseh Azure Awuni with “HIS AWARDSHIP MAJOR COURAGE E. K. QUASHIGAH GHANA ORATORY AND LEADERSHIP AWARD FOR YOUNG SCHOLARS” for his exceptional and tremendous skills and performance in the fields of television, radio and news paper reporting, features and commentary writing, editing, publication, oratory, student politics and youth leadership.

This Award was deigned and instituted in December 2008 to immortalize the achievements of His Awardship Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd.), LTAAR, FGNAHAF, Ghana's former Health Minister and the current Board Chairman of the Country Awards Council, Ghana as one of the few good people and distinguished statesmen in Ghana's politics in recent times. The Award is conferred on young people who have distinguished themselves in the field of Oratory Presentation and Leadership. However, recipients of the Award must further exhibit true qualities of Statesmanship, Youth Development and Service to Humanity.

Mr. Manasseh Azure Awuni who is 24 Years is a young achiever in the field of journalism, broadcasting, student politics and youth leadership. Some of his storied accomplishments includes Publisher & Editor of Secondary Times Newspaper, Online Feature Writer for myjoyonline.com, ghanaweb.com modernghana.com etc., Intern (Reporter) for GTV News from June 2007 to Date.. Regular Writer of Radio Ghana's News Commentary (2006 to Date) and Reporter, News and Features Editor of GIJ News Paper “The Communicator”. He is also Features Editor of Health Focus newspaper from January 2009 to date and Election 2008 Correspondent for GTV and Radio Ghana.

Some of Manasseh Azure Awuni's famous articles includes “A LETTER TO MY FUTURE WIFE: WHY GUYS DUMP GIRLS”, “TRIBUTE TO KOJO OPPONG NKRUMAH” and “WHY “NORTHERNERS” FIGHT”.

The Board Chairman of the Country Awards Council, Ghana His Awardship Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd.) has described Mr. Manasseh Azure Awuni as a young achiever whose achievements is worth emulating by his compatriots and the coming generation; citing that the future of Ghana lies in their onus. Major Quashigah (Rtd.) has therefore called the youth to recognized their talents and potentials at their younger age and to ensure that they utilise them for the development of Oman Ghana.

The Country Director of CACG, His Awardship Kobla Asamani has said that it is good for young achievers to be recognized to encourage them to serve mother Ghana which in fact is the best and greatest contribution of a true patriot.

Mr. Asamani said the award would be presented to Young Manasseh Azure Awuni and two others at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Osu - Accra.
