The Chairman of the Central Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Reverend Asare Newton Akorto, has called on Christians to intensify their preaching to win more souls for Christ. Rev. Akorto was preaching at the opening of the 14th annual conference of the Central Region branch of the Church at Agona Kwanyako.

Three thousand members of the church from branches in Nsaba, Brakwa, Winneba, Agona Swedru, Bisease, Nyakrom and Kwanyako attend the five-day conference under the theme:  “Put on the Armour of God”.

Members took stock of their activities and planning for the coming year.

Rev. Akorto urged Christians to pray and sensitised their friends, parents, chiefs, politicians and even the unbelievers with the word of God, teach them about Christ, and help them take Him as their personal Saviour.

“It is only when one believes in the Lord and takes Christ Jesus as his or her personal Saviour that he will attain salvation”.

Rev. Akorto emphasised the need for people, especially the youth as future leaders, to allow Christ to lead and administer their daily affairs, to enable them to overcome challenges they encountered in life.

They later prayed for peace and tranquility to prevail in the country and also for the growth of the church and the mission of Christ on earth.
