Nsawam, May 4, GNA - Dr. Godfred Osei Bonsu Amoah, the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akuapem South, on Sunday toured three communities in the municipality where about 100 people were rendered homeless during a rainstorm that hit the area on Saturday.
The communities are Mpakadam, Nsabaah Pokrom and Nsumiah.
There was no casualty recorded.
Dr. Amoah told the GNA during the tour that the roofs of 34 buildings were ripped off during the storm.
The affected places included a poultry farm belonging to Ahuntem Farm at Nsakadam and the houses of the chiefs of Nsabaah Pokrom and Nsumiah.
Dr. Amoah said the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) was taking steps to come to the aid of the victims.
Nana Kojo Djan, chief of Pokrom Sabaah, commended the new MCE for his prompt response and promised to support him for the development of the municipality.
