Accra, April 30, GNA – Mr Alexander Asum-Ahensah, Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture held separate meetings with the Chinese Ambasador to Ghana Mr Yu Wenzhe and the Iranian Cultural Counselor to Ghana Mr Abbas Ali Afsari in Accra.
The two diplomats called on him to discuss ways to deepen cultural relations with Ghana and also strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Mr Asum-Ahensah at the separate meetings in his office noted that though Ghana engaged with the two countries in other areas of cooperation, the cultural aspect was most important.
He mentioned the Chinese government's cultural cooperation with Ghana which resulted in the construction of the National Theatre in Accra to facilitate Ghana's cultural events among others.
He assured that government would work to strengthen relations especially in the area of culture with the two countries.
He called for exchange programmes among the three countries to enable them to learn from one another's culture.
Mr Yu Wenzhe informed the Minister of an impending Chinese arts event slated for May this year in Accra to showcase historic features and folk-dance to renew friendship between the two countries.
