Accra, April 30, GNA - The People's Republic of China would be 60, on October 1, 2009, and the Chinese people and its allies are expected to celebrate it with pomp and pride.
To this end, a performance troupe of the Gansu Province of China would from May 4 to May 8, 2009 put up cultural shows at the National Theatre in Accra to mark the beginning of the 60th Anniversary celebrations.
The Embassy of China, in a press release signed by Ambassador Yu Wenzhe, stated that the programme formed part of the bilateral cultural exchanges between China and Ghana.
The programme is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of China, the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture of Ghana, the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, China Enterprises Chamber of Commence in Ghana, Ghana-Chinese Chamber of Commence and China State Hualong Construction (Ghana) Limited.
The performances on May 5 and May 7 are to be attended by invited guests, while that of May 6 is opened to the public.
