The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has appealed to Assembly members to desist from demanding and collecting money from nominated Municipal and District Chief Executives. He said that “The money some persons were demanding from the nominees, were such that, even their end of team salary cannot pay”
Speaking during the confirmation of Mr Seth Okyere, the MCE for West Akyem on Wednesday, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo explained that demanding money from the nominees could bring catastrophic tramifications after the nominees have assumed duty.
The endorsement process which was carried out in a transparent and conducive environment compelled the Regional Minister to commend the assembly.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo asked the assembly members not to undermine the President's nominees as MCE's and DCE's in the region
The Regional Minister said that the slowing down of the endorsement processes of the MCE'S and DCE's by some assembly members could retared development in their respective districts.
“Political and Ethnic differences between assemblies members should be buried in order to speed up the endorsement processes” he emphasized.
The endorsement process which was carried out in a transparent and conducive environment compelled the Regional Minister to commend the assembly.
At separate elections, Samuel Fleischer and Twum Atta were endorsed as DCEs for Suhum-Kraboa-Coalter and Atiwa respectively.
