INTRODUCTION
Even though evidence shows that our previous governments have done a great deal to commence the embarkation of industrialisation in Ghana, there are some weak points in the structures that are seen to be impeding the successful realisation of their aims. These weak structures are not so conspicuous; therefore, both the people of Ghana and those experts engaged in this venture do not envisage these negative problems blocking the need to aggressively bring Ghanaians out of poverty. In this essay, I try to deliberate on these issues and then make them salient in order continue to issue the warning that only the aggressive pursuance of the agreement approach could lead to Ghana coming out successfully as an industrialised nation in the continent of Africa.
OIL REVENUE IS NOT PERMANENT
There are many factors that put pressure on us as a nation to use the agreement approach procedure, which alone offers an hundred percent assurance or guarantee to get us industrialised in no time. First of all, the oil revenue that gives us the abundant possibility to get us out of poverty is not going to be permanent. But as for these we all know of it and that sounds the warning that Ghanaians must utilise all the financial strength they possess now in the interim to get their country industrialised. The revenue may of course be needed to pursue other programmes that can be crucial for the survival of this potential nation, but still we need to sacrifice as a people for now and look forward for a brighter future for our children and grandchildren. The revenue, which may be capable of alleviating the mess made by successive corrupt regimes before should be used aggressively to industrialise so that Ghana can stand on its feet again. Industrialisation means that there is a diversified economy so that we may not in the future have to depend on only handful assets that can give us the possibility to export other products that will strengthen our economy at home and abroad in the long run.
GENERAL TENDENCY AND IMF PROGRAMMES HAVE NOT BEEN ADEQUATE
The financial institutions that have been founded in the world to help deal developing nations' problems do not have genuine interest to support us to develop and become like the already industrialised nations of the world. Their programmes have been criticised frequently by experts who have our nation's problems on their minds, but since we do not have much choice to make, we usually fall back on them. We may be forced to hang on with them concerning their programmes which may not leave us dying because it could aid us to feed ourselves but still it leaves poverty at our door steps. Therefore, as a nation with well-educated people and some with excellent experiences concerning these programmes, we need to find aggressive manner to shackle off these inadequate programmes that do not genuinely help us to develop. Only the agreement approach can wrestle these financial institutions by brushing them aside and commence true industrialisation to help Ghana's economic problems. The agreement approach in the realm of development has the giant approach to usher Ghana into the next millennium where we can become part of the industrialised nations of the world.
GENERAL ATTITUDE TOWARDS AFRICANS
As mentioned already in the previous article, the general tendency is that we are not capable of industrialising and even if successful, the inefficiency in our system will not make the work becomes successful to be capable of matching those already industrialised. This is not a perfect observation, according to my own estimation, but still they have concluded that which reigns today in the minds of many investors who want to invest in this country. To strenuously break this cycle of thinking, we need the agreement approach which will mean that the investments coming in into the country will be guaranteed by the presence of this mentor nation that has more credibility than our corrupt governments. This reduces the uncertainty in the country in terms of poor management and inappropriate waste of resources in the country. This cherishing attitude of our incapability to manage these industries and subsequently its efficiency capacity they require was also cherished concerning many of these recent nations that had successfully industrialised now due to the indirect use of the agreement approach method.
POLITICAL SITUATION IN GHANA AND CORRUPTION IN LEADERS
Ghana has had many corrupt leaders during the time of military regimes and also civilian regimes. Even though at present there are many private as well as governmental institutions that have been created with the purpose of checking corruption, there is no guarantee that these would be capable of stopping the gigantic corruption that has infected the public sector. There is therefore the need to have a watchful mentor nation that is credible and would be a check on our corrupt politicians who would not be able to end this due to the strains the cultural factors produce. It is only the agreement approach that will help us to become industrialised so as to remove these people from their positions whenever they are caught. The politicians, to me present the greatest obstacle to successful industrialisation in Ghana; they may portray that they have this at heart but in the end they will certainly fail the Ghanaian people whose willingness to have their country developed will be impeded. The revenue to come through the oil cannot be accounted properly as this has happened in Nigeria which has large reserves but up till now their corrupt politicians have diverted all the money that could have help them industrialised. While they have failed their people, the agreement approach method could have solved this problem, which could have aided this rich populated country in Africa to have industrialised long time ago. Certainly, Ghana would not like to follow the footsteps of Nigeria, but that is only possible with the use of the agreement approach.
A STRONG ALLIANCE CAN DO BETTER
To help Ghana get industrialised, I have hope only in this agreement approach method and so I do submit this to the right and patriotic people of Ghana who do not want corrupt politicians to squander their money and cause chaos in the country. A strong alliance not to go and fight and throw away our money in the battlefield, but to assist us to become industrialised is the true help we need. They can perform better because it is a business venture which no partner looses but each has a great deal to gain. After all, all those successful nations in the world, including those surprisingly rich nations in the northern and southern hemispheres, received their industrialisation through the indirect agreement approach method. We need not feel proud for all that could have gained so many years did not become successful because we neglected the help we could have obtained from potential helpers who love and respect us as a people.
NO TIME TO WAIST
Ghanaians should not waste time in lingering behind and waiting for the trial and error methods (e.g. IMF), which the world had deliberately prepared for us to keep us from industrialising. It is a waste of time, I tell you, to follow these methods and programmes that are deliberately planned before hand to cause you to fail in the end. If we would listen to our brothers who have knowledge about these things, our problems would be solved in no time. But supposing we keep on thinking that we are smart so we shall do it ourselves, we are bound to fail because the obstacles are so many and bulky that there is no way we could get behind without following the formula I have suggested. Time wasting would not help us, rather it would allow the corrupt politicians to get away with some revenue which could have contributed to these things that we are looking forward to in order to make our lives better. “A word to the wise man is enough.”
LET US BE THE FIRST IN BLACK AFRICA
There is no doubt that all eyes are on us Ghanaians to become the first black African country to become industrialised in the near future. If we heed my advice and commence on the agreement approach method in the principle of imitation to enable us to develop, we should be industrialised at least from 15 to 35 years from now. The possibility is there, and it is up to us to make this choice. But to listen to those that have already set up the trap before you with their no-where-to-go programmes, you shall wonder in the “desert of industrialisation” in the next 40 years without accomplishing anything due to bad leadership, unnecessary ethnic problems, military uncertainty, corruption, and wrong advice.
MENTOR NATIONS ARE WAITING
Those mentor nations are ready and waiting to be contacted. They are not only interested in you but this time they want to genuinely help you to avoid the guilt that had plagued them since they had had contact with you so many years ago. They tell you that this time, trust us, for this is purely a business venture; you gain and I gain. They had helped others to come up in their industrialisation and they need you just as you need them. This is your time; in fact, it is desperately your turn and, do not allow this golden opportunity to pass by.
CONCLUSION
Industrialisation is a tedious work that requires enormous capital to embark upon. Ghana has been blessed with enormous resources apart from the rich minerals it possesses such as gold, diamond, bauxite, manganese, and many others. Even the rich agricultural products we have augment this opportunity we have to become an industrialised nation in the next 15 to 35 years from now. This time there is no chance to leave our fate to corrupt politicians, treacherous institutions, and our own inappropriate behaviours that have kept us behind all these years. There is a hundred percent guarantee to lift this country Ghana if we utilised the Agreement Approach of the principle of imitation to get us industrialise faster before the oil revenue is sucked by some interest groups. The earlier we contacted the mentor nation, the better it would be for us to get industrialised.
