The fifth Parliament of the Fourth Republic will reconvene on Tuesday, 21st April 2009 to debate the report from the Appointments Committee on the remaining Deputy Ministerial nominees whose vetting ended on the 3rd of April 2009.

Citi News also has information that the House will be reviewing the formula for the disbursement of the District Assemblies Common Fund when it sits.

Member of Parliament for the Talensi constituency, Hon. John Akologu Tia confirmed these to Citi News and said the members of the House had been served with a notice of recall of Parliament which had been signed by the Clerk of Parliament.

The Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament also said the House was expected to sit at 10:00 am.

According to him the reviewing of the formula for the disbursement of the District Assemblies Common Fund was “long overdue” noting that the “because we couldn't approve the formula before we rose, this disbursement has not been done and we think that it might affect the work of the Assemblies and the MPs”.

The District Assemblies Common Fund is shared quarterly to all the constituencies and District Assemblies in the country.

Hon. John Tia added that nineteen deputy ministers are outstanding and need the approval of Parliament to be appointed to office.

He however said he was not sure the form or structure the reports will take when they are presented to the House.

He also noted that he was not sure how long the House will sit on the matters it was to discuss.
