Road transport associations in Ho are liaising with the municipal assembly to apportion to them loading points within the Ho Main Vehicle Terminus to stop disorderliness at the station.

The new arrangement is also expected to leave wider passageway for vehicle and human traffic at the crammed station.

Mr Victus Tetteh, Management Service Provider for the Progressive Transport Association (PROTOA), Volta Region, was speaking to the Ghana News Agency during a visit to the station by PROTOA national executives.

He said it was expected that the re-demarcation of loading points would stop the arbitrariness whereby the same transport association could have more than one vehicle loading at the same time at different parts of the station for the same destination.

Mr Tetteh said the arrangements would allow for only vehicles scheduled to load to park at the station while others could wait their turn elsewhere.

PROTOA national executives visited Anloga, Keta, Aflao, Ho, Kpando and Hohoe where it interacted with members.

Mr Ben Peprah Amoabeng, National Chairman, inaugurated the regional executives under the chairmanship of Mr Ben Katsekpor with advice that only roadworthy vehicles should be allowed to load at the association's loading points.

He warned drivers against drink driving and said PROTOA would acquire equipment for determining alcohol levels of drivers before they proceed on their journeys.

Other members of the executive are Isaac Amenyo, Vice-Chairman, Cephas Exe, Secretary, Joe Komada, Treasurer and Felix Kudekpo, Executive Member.
