Farmers appeal for agriculture inputs

Nana Adu Ansah Sasaaku II, of Adukofi near Adeiso and prominent farmer in the West Akim District of the Eastern Region has appealed to the Ministry of Agriculture to provide farming inputs for over 200 farmers in the area to expand their farms.

Nana Ansah Sasraku made the appeal at a day's forum organised by the farmers, who mainly cultivate crops, including palm, plantain, pawpaw, maize, cassava, vegetables and oranges.

He said the farmers in the area needed loans to enhance production and appealed for silos to store their farm produce.

He also appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to come to their aid and gravel the 21-kilometre road linking Adeiso and Asamankese to enable themto transport their food items to the marketing centres.
