Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has launched its Easter 'Safe – Drive' Campaign with an awareness exercise at various lorry stations in Accra.

The company's employees distributed messages on responsible drinking in the form of bumper stickers and fliers.

Mr Edwin Baffour, The Corporate Citizenship Manager, addressing drivers at the Achimota lorry station, said, “The Easter festive season is a time for reflection and the coming together of families and friends to bond and strengthen the social ties.

It is also a time of heavy vehicular movement and, therefore, an appropriate time to remind the traveling public and drivers of their responsibility to their passengers and all road users to drink responsible, and if driving, not drink and drive at all.”

He said that the leading producer and marketer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in the country, GGBL is passionate about its consumers. “GGBL wants to assure its consumers that the pleasurable occasions individuals share with their friends and loved ones are complete without creating any problems for themselves, or the society at large.”

The 'Safe-Drive' campaign will incorporate key messages in the media, including a special message from celebrated footballers, Michael Essien, urging consumers to 'stay on side” by drinking responsibly this Easter festive season.

It would be recalled that GGBL embarked on a safe drive campaign during the recent Christmas season to educate the general public.
