The Assinman Rural Bank, at Assin Manso in the Central Region, has donated a generator to the Manso Health Centre for the preservation of vaccines during power outages.

Mr Frank Owusu, Chairman of the Board of Directors told the Ghana News Agency at Assin Manso that as a means of fulfilling its social responsibility to the people, the Bank also donated another generator to the Assin Apimanim Traditional Council for use during power failure.

Mr Owusu said the Bank connected electricity to the District Assembly's Junior High School to enable the school to use computers donated to it.

He said every year the bank offered at least five scholarships to students who excelled in their final examinations to further their education in Senior High Schools and tertiary institutions.

The Board chairman said they also support the assemblies in the Bank's catchments area in the organization of the National Farmers' Day Celebrations.

He said the Bank also provided sanitation equipment to support President Mills' Clean Ghana campaign in the Assin South District.

Mr Owusu said plans were advanced for putting up permanent offices for the Bank.

Mr Alfred Asare, acting manager, appealed to customers who had not repaid their loans to do so to enable the Bank to extend loans to others.

He said the Bank had initiated a lot of programmes to assist its customers to improve their financial status and appealed to them to cooperate with the management.
