The Apam District Magistrate Court has remanded in police custody, a 45-year old farmer at Gomoa Enyeme, for using threatening words on an 80-year old farmer at the same village.

Kwesi Begyina pleaded not guilty and was ordered by the court to re-appear on April 9, 2009.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Sampson Dziekpor told the court, presided over by Mr Charles Wiafe that, both the complainant Madam Araba Ampah and Begyina were family members who share common farm boundary at Gomoa Enyeme.

He said sometime last month a misunderstanding cropped up between them over a piece of land on their boundary during which Begyina threatened to kill Madam Ampah and her daughter whose name was not mention in court, spiritually.

Chief Inspector Dziekpor said the family later resolved the issue and the complainant gave her land to the Methodist Church for cultivation.

He said on March 23, 2009, when Begyina returned from Accra to Enyeme and saw that the Church had cleared the land, he threatened Madam Ampah and members of the Church.

The prosecution said the complainant this time became afraid and report the matter to the police who arraigned him.
