Tullow Oil Plc found oil-bearing sands at its Tweneboa-1 exploration well offshore Ghana and at the Karuka-2 exploration well on the Vundu prospect in Block 2 Uganda.
The Tweneboa-1 well was deepened to 3,938 meters (12,920 feet) and found four meters of highly-pressured oil-bearing sands, the company said in a statement distributed by the Regulatory News Service. The Karuka-2 well reached 897 meters and encountered “limited thin-bedded” oil-bearing sands from 764 meters to 772 meters.
