Man 38, knocked down by a vehicle


A 38-year-old man, Kofi Donkor died on the spot on Tuesday night when he was knocked down by a Ford bus at Asebu in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District.

His body has been deposited at the Central Regional hospital mortuary for autopsy, while the driver of the vehicle with registration number GN7059Z, Kwesi Ekow, has been detained to assist the police in their investigations into the cause of the accident.

Briefing the GNA about the accident at Cape Coast on Wednesday, Assistant Superintendent of Police Frederick Asare- Mensah said Ekow, who was travelling from Kumasi to Takoradi, knocked down the deceased at Asebu while he was crossing the road.

Mr Asare-Mensah appealed to drivers to refrain from speeding, especially within towns and cities.
