Madam Adwoa Nyarko, Proprietor of Confidence Eating Place at Bantama in Kumasi, has appealed to the rich to always remember needy children, especially those in foster homes and assist in their education and upbringing.

She said such assistance would help orphanages and foster institutions provide quality care and mould the life and character of under privileged children to grow and become responsible citizens.

Madam Nyarko made the appeal when she donated 100 bags of cement towards the construction of a Baby's ward at the Ashan Development Centre, an orphanage, at Denase in the Afigya-Kwabre District.

The donation coincided with the presentation of food items and soap worth 700 Ghana cedis by the Confidence Fitness Club of Tafo-Pankrono in Kumasi of which Madam Nyarko is the life patron.

She commended the management of the orphanage for the good work done in shaping the lives of the children in the home.

Mr Akwasi Boateng, President of the Club, said members were deeply touched by the plight of the children when they visited the orphanage sometime ago.

Mr William Asirifi Tenkorang, Supervisor of the Home, expressed gratitude to members of the club and urged other corporate organizations, philanthropists and social organizations to carry out similar acts of benevolence to the under privileged in society.

He said the orphanage has about 62 children in school and appealed for support to enable them obtain quality education.
