Former Executives of Sunyani Polytechnic branch of the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress have congratulated President Mills and Vice President Mahama for emerging victorious in the 2008 general election.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Francis Kuunaiguo Francis, former vice president of the student body.
The executives for the 2007 and 2008 academic years also congratulted President Mills for the appointment of Mr Haruna Iddrisu, National Youth Organiser of the party and MP for Tamale South, and Mr Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional chairman of the party as Minister of Communications and Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, respectively.
“They are people who have outstanding credentials and have excelled in their areas of endeavours,” they said, noting that Mr Iddrisu had championed the passage of a lot of crucial bills in Parliament and contributed immensely to the party's victory.
“Mr Nyamekye Marfo on the other hand is a humble man, down to earth and a person who welcomes diverse views irrespective of one's social, economic and political status and affiliation,” the statement stated.
The former executives pledged their continued support and expressed the hope that the two ministers would bring their rich experiences to bear in their various portfolios to help President Mills execute his agenda for a better Ghana.
