Eastern Regional Minister calls for support from religious leaders

Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Eastern Regional Minister has appealed to religious leaders in the Region for their support with prayers from God towards an accelerated socio-economic development during his tenure of office.

He made the appeal during his visit to Bishop Joseph Afrifa Agyekum, Catholic Bishop of Koforidua, Apostle S.K. Ofosu, Area Head of Church of Pentecost and Alhaji Yusif Ahmudani Sulemana, Eastern Regional Chief Imam.

Mr Ofosu Ampofo expressed Government's appreciation to the Catholic Church for its contribution towards education and health in the Region and pledged to improve health facilities in the Region and National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Bishop Agyekum, expressed appreciation for the visit and urged him to work hard for the success of his administration.

Apostle Ofosu was delighted that President John Evans Atta Mills had faith in prayers and prepared to welcome religious organisations to the Castle, Osu.

He advised Mr Ofosu Ampofo to pay regular visits to the church to seek God's guidance and protection and urged him to endeavour to collate ideas from other political leaders in the Region.

Alhaji Sulemana said it was the first time an Eastern Regional Minister had visited him and appealed for cordial relationship with all religious organisations in the Region.
