National Juniors and cadets Pin pong championship underway

The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) National Juniors and Cadets Invitational Championship is currently underway at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

The exercise, according to the association's scribe Mr. Kwame Amponfi Jnr. is to select National Juniors and Cadets model teams for International Championships.

And for the participation modalities, three boys, three girls (U-18), two boys, two girls (U-15) and one Coach each from Ashanti, Volta, Eastern, Central and Greater Accra will vie for honours, while two boys, two girls (U-18), one boy, one girl (U-15) and 1 Coach each from Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Upper West, Northern and Western Regions are expected.

Each of the eight National Security Services is entitled to six U- 18 players (boys and girls). Players U-18, born in 1991 – 1992 – 1993 etc as well as players U-15 (born in 1994 – 1995 – 1996 are eligible for the two-day competition.

Meanwhile, accommodation, feeding and full transport fares for all accredited regional contingent would be catered for by the Sports Council. Again, non-residential and residential camping of selected team continues immediately after the championship, ahead of the 18th African Juniors and Cadets Championship slated for Cairo, Egypt from April 10-18.
