The donation to the schools was done at the opening ceremony of the Central Zone Inter-Schools Sporting Competition hosted by the Awudome Senior High School (AWUSCO) at Tsito.

The beneficiary schools include; Abutia, Awudome, Akome, Avatime, Dzolo, Tsito and Kpedze Senior High Schools.

Making the presentation on Monday, The MP urged the students to develop a special interest for sports and not as “something for non-serious students adding, “take your academic work also seriously and with the two you would go places.”

He challenged them to compete fairly with one another and not see their opponents as enemies since sports is meant to  nurture healthy relationships among them. “Do not see yourself as enemies and don't forget that fair play is the number one ethic in sports,” he advised.

Mr. Bedzrah assured the students of his commitment in ensuring that the required logistics are available to their various schools to ensure smooth academic work towards a successful future.

He entreated the students to desist from pre-marital sex, saying “With the rate at which HIV/AIDS is spreading you would only dig a grave for yourself if you indulge in pre-marital sex.”

The MP further urged the students to develop a maintenance culture and keep the jerseys and other school properties in their possession with the utmost care so that others would also come to use them.

He promised to give the overall winner in the one week inter-schools games “a surprise package”.

The headmaster of Awudome Senior High School, G. O. Y Bonuedie, on behalf of the schools thanked the MP for the kind gesture and further urged him to do more so that he would be remembered for his good works.

According to Mr. Bonuedie, the gesture is one of the few he has witnessed and called on other stakeholders to emulate the MP.

Participating in the Central Zone Inter-Colleges Games are 17 SHS drawn from the Ho Municipality, with some others from the Adaklu Anyigbe District. The games being hosted by AWUSCO would last for a week.
