EXHIBITORS AT the ongoing 13th Ghana International Trade Fair have said, even though this year's fair was taking time to pick-up, they were still hopeful that it would be a success.

Some of the exhibitors CITY & BUSINESS GUIDE spoke to, said the fair which began on 26th February and expected to end on 16th March 2009 had not received much patronage because most people are not aware there was a fair on going.

An exhibitor, Stephen Dansu, in an interview said he believed the low patronage was also because advertisements in the media were limited.

He said many people he spoke to said they had not watched or listened to any advert about the fair.

He said the management of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFC) should endeavour to extend the media coverage to a wide range of media outlets so as to reach a wide range of audience.

Mr. Dansu was however hopeful that patronage would increase before the fair ends.

However, Kwesi Wilson, Media Relations for GTFC said enough publicity has been made about the fair.

He advised exhibitors to take advantage of the media houses present at the fair, to advertise with them.
