As part of rapid work beginning in his constituency after his election into office as a Member of Parliament, Hon. Edem Asimah says, he is designing a project for a water supply to reach various communities under his constituency. The Member of Parliament targets more than 20 communities in the area and some of the communities to benefit from this water project include places like Todome-Kpalime, Agordekey, Peki and its surrounding communities.

Hon. Asimah, the MP, for South Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region says, “potable drinking water has been a major predicament in his constituency for the past years and it is about time all should assist him in tackling it wholistically”. In habitants have for the past years depended on unhygienic water sources in their various communities which they even share together with birds and animals and as a result, posing so many health problems, and as Ghana celebrates 52 years of Independence, it is necessary that all must get on board to fighting these problems with an overhaul approach because, “a healthy body breeds a healthy mind”.

As part of his projects in the South Dayi Constituency, he is holding talks with some fellow foreign contractors and investors and friends from China, Denmark and othe wealthy states to aid him bring potable drinking water to thedoor-step of his people. The entire project he estimates will cost about US 500,000 Dollars.

He urged all wealthy citizens from the constituency, both home and abroad to join him in the struggle to enhance development in the area and should not perceive that, once a person is elected into office as MP, he has amassed funds and therefore he is the “mayor of development” but rather get involved in building up the area by assisting him in his work by combining all efforts and thoughts spiritually, socially, economically, and financially.

As a medium of communicating to all, he is thanking all who helped in his victory of becoming MP for the area during the 2007 elections. He promised to deliver on his pledges but also stressed that, he will need the effort of all to ensure good and effective governance in South Dayi.
