Dormaa-East MP to introduce ICT …In local schools in constituency

THE MEMBER of Parliament for Dormaa East in the Brong Ahafo region, Hon. Yaw Ntow Ababio has announced initiatives to introduce Information Communication Technology (ICT) to Junior High Schools in the Dormaa East Constituencies in order to assist the students acquire knowledge in ICT.

He stressed the need for the students to acquire knowledge about I. C. T. because the world is now a global village. Hon. Yaw Ntow said he had already acquired 20 computers for the project with its headquarters at Wamfie, the capital of Dormaa-East. The ICT centres would be opened at Wamanafo, Dormaa, Akwamu and Kyeremasu.

He said the Wamfie centre was funded at the cost of GH¢ 96.5 from the MP's Common-Fund and GETfund. He told newsmen at his residence at Dormaa-Ahenkro over the weekend that he has taken delivery of additional 30 computers and accessories for the project which is intended to motivate young students to acquire skills in ICT.

The MP has built 3 classroom blocks at the cost of GH¢ 400.00, a Computer office at GH¢ 200.00 and an air condition apparatus for the accessories. He as well disclosed that arrangement has been put in place to recruit some teachers in the district to train at E. Toil Computers in Accra to learn educational software so that they will come and teach the students.

The MP categorically advised parents to take proper care of their wards in the District because the MP's, government and teachers are doing their best for the children to become good citizens of Ghana. He advised the students of the area to get involved in learning I.C.T so as to acquire skilful knowledge. He also assured them that he would extend the project to Senior High Schools in the District so that all students and the youth in the area will benefit from the project.
