Residents of Dormaa–Ahenkro on Tuesday embarked on a massive clean–up exercise to rid their environment of filth and prevent the outbreak diseases.
Led by staff of Dormaa Municipal office of Zoomlion Company, and the municipal sanitary inspectorate, the residents, including school children, swept and burnt garbage and cleared choked gutters.
Martin Yeboah, Municipal Sanitation Officer, told the Ghana News Agency that the exercise would be sustained not only to keep the town clean but also to instil the culture of cleanliness among the people.
He lauded the active participation of the people and urged them to keep the spirit up.
Mr. Yeboah noted the outstanding performance of Zoomlion, the municipal assembly staff, members of Dormaa branch of tailors and dressmakers association of Ghana, and hairdressers associations in the town.
