Kwasi Nyantekyi (GFA Chairman) Optimum Media Prime (OMP) last week paid GH¢97,000 to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as payment of the third installment of a syndication rights to broadcast the second phase of the World Cup/Africa Nations qualifiers.

The firm also has the right to broadcast the ongoing Glo Premier League through Metro Television network.

Receiving the cheque, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi commended OMP for supporting Ghana football.

He said football was now an expensive venture and thus government alone could not fund it, adding that other corporate institutions should emulate the example of OMP.

“We recognize the professionalism you have attached to helping Ghana football to grow.

“Gone are the days when broadcasting rights were free. There is the need to get funds from broadcasting of matches.”

On his part, Fadi Fatal, Managing Director of OMP said his outfit is committed to developing football in Ghana, explaining that OMP will do more.
