Government appointees at Dormaa-East District Assembly in Brong-Ahafo, have taken the oath of office at Wamfie administered by the District Magistrate, Mr Atta Owusu-Kaakyire.

Squadron leader Ben Anane-Asamoah, out-going District Chief Executive, stressed the need for the people to bury their political differences and forge ahead in unity to accelerate the district's development.

“Political campaigns and elections are now over, let's see ourselves as one people in a traditional set-up with a common goal,” he said.

He emphasized: “it did not matter who is the ruler or the ruled. What matters is how the development can be accelerated through our collective effort”.

Squadron Leader Anane-Asamoah tasked the reconstituted 29 member-Assembly to put premium on defending and protecting the rights and privileges of the people and not to seek their parochial interests.

He called for the diversification of the Assembly's strategies to improve internally generated revenue.

Mr Dwira Darko, District Coordinating Director, the acting Presiding Member, welcomed the new members and urged them to make meaningful impact on the development of the Assembly.
