Mr Kwame Adu Bediako, National Chairman of the “Abetifiman Mma”, a development-oriented association of Abetifi citizens resident in and outside Abetifi, has stressed the need for members to unite,

and in a collective manner, initiate projects to give the town a face-lift.

He reminded the people that the government alone cannot shoulder all their responsibilities, and that it was up to them, in their own small way, to contribute their quota to supplement government efforts in improving their lot.

Mr Bediako made the call when he addressed members of the Accra branch of the Association at their annual get-together at the Gloryland Hotel over the weekend.

He charged them to embark on a membership drive, so that with more members, they could initiate many projects to speed up the development and progress of Abetifi.

The National Chairman disclosed that currently the Association was constructing a public toilet back home, at a cost of 4,000 Ghana Cedis to improve sanitation, adding that, the project would be completed by Easter.

Mr Kwabena Addo, Chairman of the Accra branch of the Association advised the youth in the town to refrain from social vices.

He said, rather, they should use their youthfull exuberance to initiate profitable ventures to accelerate the socio-economic development of the area.

Mr. Kofi Owusu, Treasurer of the Association, urged members to pay their contributions to help keep it going.
