Body of "Martyred" Ghanaian arrives in Ghana for Funeral Rites

The remains of Reginald Berko, the Martyred young Ghanaian who was stabbed to death by a murderer in Hackney, East London, has finally arrived in Ghana, and thousands of mourners from all walks of life are expected to view the body at Saint Paul's Church at Asokwa in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, (beginning at 8:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 26, 2009 - before burial on the same day at his Home-Town of Bamang, near the Kente weaving Town of Bonwire, also in the Ashanti Region of Ghana).

The late Reginald Bekoe was the son of Mr. Berko, a former Headmaster of Opoku Ware Secondary School "OWASS" in Kumasi, and his Mother, Mrs. Victoria Berko, popularly known as "Sister Vic" or "Auntie Vic" is a blood relative of "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Appiah Boateng, former Ghanaian-American Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate - turned 2004 and 2008 CPP Parliamentary Candidate for Nhyiaeso Constituency in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

The late Prince, (Reginald Bekoe), was historically a member and direct descedant of the famed Adonteng Puduo Royal Family of Bamang and Amaape.

Meanwhile, British Police have arrested the murderer who took the young life of the 26 year old Ghanaian National, according to reliable sources.


In a SPECIAL TRIBUTE, "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Mayor again praised his relative, Reginald Berko as a young man who braved the storms of Atlantic Ocean into the Frontiers of an un-known World, England.

"Reginald Berko had a Good Soul. Sadly, a cowardly murderous hand took his Precious Life which was woven by the Mysterious Hands of God Almighty", "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Appiah said in a tribute.

The "People's Mayor" once again, asked Ghanaians around the World to show solidarity and pour out in their numbers at the Funeral Celebration of Mr. Reginald Berko (at the St. Pauls Church Service on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Asokwa, Kumasi, Ashanti Region and also, attend the burial grounds at Bamang, near Bonwire, also on the same day - Thursday February 26, 2009).

The Celebrated Human Rights Activist had high praise for British Police who arrested the cowardly murderer .

"The evil and cowardly murderer must face Justice !!!", said the Legendary Human Rights Crusader.

"Reginald Berkoe, May Your Soul Rest in Perfect Peace".

" The Mysteries of the Heavens above and Mother Earth will avenge your untimely death !!!", said "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Appiah.
