Citizens of Abetifi urged to unite for development

Mr Kwame Adu Bediako, National Chairman of “Abetifiman Mma”, a development-oriented association of citizens of Abetifi in the Eastern Region, has called on members to unite and initiate projects that would give the town a face-lift.

He said the government alone could not satisfy all their needs and that it was their responsibility to contribute their quota to supplement government's efforts in improving their lot.

Mr Bediako made the call when he addressed members of the Accra branch of the association during an annual get-together at the weekend.

He urged them to encourage citizens of Abetifi who had not joined the association to do so to enable them to initiate many projects to speed up the development of the town.

Mr Bediako said the association was constructing a public toilet at Abetifi at an estimated cost of 4,000 Ghana Cedis to improve sanitation, adding that the project would be completed in April.

Mr Kwabena Addo, Chairman of the Accra branch of the Association, advised the youth to refrain from indulging in social vices.

Rather, he said, they should use their exuberance to initiate profitable ventures to accelerate the socio-economic development of the area.

Mr Kofi Owusu, Treasurer of the Association, urged members to pay their contributions to maintain and develop it.
