The Asawasi Zongo Caucus of the National
Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated Alhaji Mohammed
Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area on his
nomination as Minister of Youth and Sports.
They also congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills on his
one-month in office and hoped the new government would continue to
deliver on its campaign promises and Manifesto.
This was contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Bashiru Issah,
Co-ordinator of the Caucus and issued in Kumasi at the weekend.
The caucus was optimistic that Alhaji Mubarak would come out with
useful initiatives and proactive plans for the sustainable development of
sports and the youth in the country.
“We are hoping that the MP would not only concentrate on football
development but would spread his net wider to cover the other sporting
disciplines to benefit Ghana,” it said.
It said there were a lot of potentials inherent in the youth and that
developing the other sporting disciplines would go a long way to give
meaning to the lives of the youth.
The statement called on well-meaning Ghanaians to be supportive of
President Mills in his vision and endeavours for the realization of the
nation’s development goals.
