Regional development projects: a considerably interest of Ghanas economy
24.01.2009 LISTEN

The government and parliament have an obligation to develop a regional Development Plan based on substantial knowledge of the region and, to help innovate the regional markets and the regional economy – on the contrary there will be room for sustainability of our national economy.

In our regional Development Projects the government and parliament must find ways to change institutional structures and influence individual behaviour. The distinction which ought to make the regional Development projects possible is the role of the government and- legislation by creating a Structural Fund to provide funding for renewal of the regional economy and- markets. It is about the government and parliament initiating a sustainable action: that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, changing policy and practice at all levels, from the rural areas to the cities, and to avoid unjust implication of the old act variety of serving the people. Social workers may play a very important role in the maintenance and regional Development Plan. Social workers raise the awareness of the local community; re-include excluded persons, the unemployed. and thus the very existence of NGOS in a rural area or a village may be beneficial.

Sustainable Regional Development Projects aiming at (regional) employment and competitiveness, computer and telecommuting training, adult and education programs for the unemployed that considers the local circumstances, tourism, renovations of buildings and road construction and infrastructural investments that consider the local geographic, social, economical and cultural circumstances will bring quick economic growth and social betterment in our various regions, on the other hand, financial revenues will stay on local level, too.

Under the Regional Development Projects re-training and adult education programs need to be started for the unemployed. Trainings that consider the local economic circumstances, build on local resources will provide long-term subsistence irrespective of the economic situation in our various regions and the nation as a whole.
