Kofi Wayo can not be ignored.
15.01.2009 LISTEN

I read with surprise a featured article by Ekua Kwansema asking Kofi Wayo to be ignored.

As far as all Ghanaians want peace, we must also not allow criminals and nation wreckers to loot this poor nation little assets to be used by incoming administration. I totally agree with Kofi Wayo on issuing a directive to former ex ministers to return state assets. I believe Kofi Wayo was speaking in his capacity as a patriotic citizen of Ghana and under no circumstance should we try to ignore people just because you disagree with them. It was such marginalization that caused the defeat of NPP.

I wonder if Ekua was in Ghana when Kofi Wayo was doing radio programme on Vibe fm to point out the mistakes of NPP administration. He was also a panel member on Alhaji and Alhaji to discuss and expose the criminalities in NPP administration. He joined several demonstrations against the NPP government including the seasoned one by CJA (Committee for Joint Action).

Kofi Wayo did not contest President Elections although he had registered a political party (URP- United Renaissance Party) not because he doesn't have money; but he was wise to realise the dominant of NPP and NDC and it will be a waste of resources. That was a wise decision. I don't expect Ekua to buy into the silly propaganda of NPP gangs to paint Kofi Wayo in negative light.

Where was Ekua when Kofi Wayo party (URP) and NDC went into alliance before Dec 7 elections? Kofi Wayo was on campaign trail on many occasions with John Mahama. One noticeable one is at Legon where was noted to have promise a laundry service centre for the university. Do you realise how NDC won massively on Legon campus?

Kofi Wayo did not speak for President Mills, he spoke in his capacity as a responsible Ghanaian and it should be respected. Take a scenario of you seeing that someone is stealing from your neighbours house; will you just look at the robbery going on because you are not the paid watchman for your neighbour? Will you not call Police if you have the means? Will you not even go to the extent of shooting if you have the gun? What is wrong with saying on radio that ex ministers with assets not belonging to them to return it or the rule of law (prosecution) will take it cause? Why do we want to play so diplomatically with these criminals that is looting this country in broad day light?

I trust Dr Tony Aidoo and he is my man in NDC to make sure that, ACTION prevails so that these criminals and nation wreckers are excommunicated to the background as soon as possible. Ghanaians will not forgive NDC if they don't fix the economy, deal with corruption and prove also why they call NPP thieves. They are thieves and the rule of law must take it cause. Rule of Law is equal to Prosecution and it must work no matter who is in power.
