Final Response To The Riposte

Final Response To The Riposte
08.01.2009 LISTEN

Mr. Aryee, out of respect I am re-addressing the issues you raised. Below are my answers.

1. How I wish you had really analyzed the points I raised when I referred former president Kufour as the new Eyadema Mugabe. I referred Kufour to these two presidents not out of disrespect for Kufour but because of something that they did which I thought Kufour was trying to copy. If you refer to my article I stated categorically that Eyadema held a presidential election and when things were not going well for him, he used his powers and canceled the vote counting and declared himself president.

I then stated that information that filtered from the EC strong room indicated the invisible hand of Kufour behind the attempt to change some of the numbers that have already be certified in the Asante Region in favour of Akufo-Addo. And I said had Kennedy Adumadze Agyepong who attempted that day-light robbery been successful, Akufo-Addo would have been proclaimed president thus stealing the elections from President Mils.

On Mugabe I stated that he used intimidations, money and other tricks to deceive Zimbabweans. And comparing some of the things he did to what Kufour did during the just ended elections, I stated that when the NPP failed in their effort to change the figures in the EC strong room, the NPP supporters marched towards the offices of the EC chanting and vandalizing anything that bears the symbol of the NDC. And while this act was going on in Accra, the NPP organized its supporters in Kumasi to stir up trouble by beating some NDC sympathizers including Mr. Ohene Agyekum. But Kufour, feigned innocence and came out to state that he has information about people attempting to stir trouble, and that he would use all means under the constitution to prevent that. It was as a result of this, that I stated that Kufour borrowed from the political play book of Mugabe. Please take your time and read my script very well.

4. If I stated that the NPP people are arrogant I did not mean all of them are. Why do we make general assumptions? All what I did was calling out the leadership of the NPP where we have most of them being arrogant. And I did not mince words in naming Mac Manu, Ohene Ntow, Kennedy Adumadze Agyepong and even Akufo-Addo who carries himself too high for the liking of many Ghanaians. Never in any of my articles did I state Kufour was arrogant. Please try and read my articles very well. I have criticized Kufour on various fronts but I do not recall saying he was arrogant.

5. Again, I will ask you to read my article tilted “This Is Shameful – Nana Akufo-Addo”, and see whether I accused Kufour of not jumping to the defense of President Mills. My accusation was against Akufo-Addo for not defending President Mills because he was bent on becoming a president when the so-called hit list story broke out. I did not once accuse Kufour. Mr. Aryee since you are very intelligent person, I would please advice you to thoroughly read my articles before you accuse me of doing something uncanny.

6. Mr. Aryee, please leave me out of Kufour/Rawlings saga. Many prominent leaders in Ghana including leading Bishops and the Asantehene have all tried and failed. Who am I therefore, to wave into it? Again, I would say that they are adults, sometimes issues that we human beings cannot settle we leave everything to God. So you should not push me to comment on the bickering between them. I cannot comment on everything that happens in Ghana.

8. Mr. Aryee again you are making thing s very difficult for yourself which is making me to believe that you do not read my articles to the end. On the concession issue in my article “Akufo-Addo Is Acting Like A Sore Loser” I never stated he was arrogant. All what I said was that by failing to concede and also accusing the EC of on a number of issues, Akufo-Addo was acting like a sore loser. Not even once did I state he was arrogant by not conceding defeat. I would appreciate it if you thoroughly read my articles before accusing me.

In most of my articles I have stated over and over again that I would be the greatest fool if I say the NPP did nothing. But I go on to stress that what the NPP did fell short of the expectations of Ghanaians.

Finally, I cannot give personal information about myself to you except to say that I am fully booked. God bless you.
