Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited has congratulated Prof. John Evans Atta Mills on his election as the President of the Republic of Ghana.
A congratulatory and goodwill message signed by the Board Chairman, E.M. Commodore Mensah, said the club was elated on the auspicious occasion of Prof. Mills's election as the new President of the Republic.
“We note with great pride that right from the year 2000 through 2004 to 2008, in keeping with the age-long and inspiring motto of 'Never Say Die', you did not panic nor felt discouraged; rather you stoically pressed on towards the goal of seeking the mandate of Ghanaians to serve the motherland. We are happy to share with you your joy of achievement and accomplishment on the occasion,” the message said.
“As you prepare to assume the presidency on January 7, 2009, we have no doubt that the special qualities of discipline, humility, determination, perseverance and tenacity of purpose that endeared you to the hearts of the majority of Ghanaians and, indeed, the entire Hearts of Oak membership, will continue to prevail and inspire you throughout your tenure of office”.
The statement wished him a very happy and successful tenure through his 'Never Say Die' spirit.
It will be recalled that Prof. Mills was the Board Chairman of Hearts in the late 90s.
