'Let's Deepen Democracy In Ghana'

Ghanaian have been commended for comporting themselves and displaying a high sense of maturity in the December 2008 polls.

However, they have been urged to lend their support to the new government to help deepen democracy and accelerate development in the country. 

The Head Pastor of the Christ Vineyard Christian Centre, Apostle Paul Mac-Love Addo Tweneboah, stated this at an anointing service in Kumasi last Sunday. 

The congregation sang, danced, praised and thanked God for allowing the country to portray herself as the rising star of Africa and, indeed, the world at large.

They were also grateful to God for the peaceful manner the December 2008 Election was conducted.

Most of the congregation had put on white clothes, which indicated the Lord had been merciful to Ghanaians. 

The head pastor expressed appreciation to God that democracy had been deepened in Ghana and enjoined Ghanaians to desist from all forms of negative attitudes that had the potential of undermining the stability and peaceful atmosphere that had prevailed in the country over the years. 

He emphasised the need for Christians to live in harmony with their neighbours for a peaceful Ghana, stressing the need for Christians to be honest, truthful, dedicated and committed at their workplaces to enhance productivity and accelerated development.

He also urged Christians to take stock of their lifestyle and formulate strategies that would enable them attain eternal life. 

The head pastor identified humility as one of the pillars of Christianity and called on all men of God to uphold it.

The reverend minister expressed concern about the attitude of some people who professed to be Christians, especially by their way of dressing and how they communicated to their neighbours, and said such actions deter non-Christians from accepting their religion.

He encouraged the youth, whom he described as the backbone of the country's future to desist from anti-social vices that could ruin their lives.

Apostle Mac-Love advised the youth to consider themselves as potential leaders endowed with creative abilities and focus on positive attitudes that would enable them realise their potential to support sustainable development.
