NO COURT CAN OVERTURN THE SOVEREIGN WILL OF THE PEOPLE
For heavens sake, and for the sake of our children, and our beautiful country Ghana, can somebody tell these power drunk, greedy self seekers, and anti democrats in NPP that SOVEREIGN WILL RESIDES IN THE PEOPLE OF GHANA not in the fast track court they set up. The people of Ghana have voted overwhelmingly to reject them in the general elections, they must accept the sovereign will of the people, concede defeat, and handover power the president elect John Attah Mills and let's move on.
Ghana is for all of us, no one is destined to lead. You have to work for it and you have to earn it from the sovereign people of Ghana. The sovereign people of Ghana ultimately make that decision to hire whoever they want to lead the country for the next four years through general elections. Prof. Attah Mills tried three times, the people rejected him on two occasions but this time, the good people of Ghana have decided to hire him as our next CEO, Akuffo-Addo and the NPP must accept the sovereign will of the people as expressed in the December 7th and December 28th elections, concede defeat and congratulate the winner , so that GHANA will be the ultimate winner and our democracy will survive. So I call on Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and NPP to accept defeat in good faith and resolve to comeback stronger in 2012.
If Akuffo-Addo and the NPP concede and congratulate the winner, they will leave as heroes and true democrats. At the moment, they are being sore losers and whinners, and not being a good sport. They can take a cue from the recent US presidential elections. John McCain conceded and called to congratulate the winner Barack Obama, long before all the results were in, and long before all the absentee ballots were counted. The major TV and Radio networks projected Barack Obama the winner long before all the results were in. This happens in all major democracies but in Ghana NPP is insisting on a fruitless exercise of demanding that elections be conducted in Tain before a winner is declared. While this is within their rights to insist on, the ultimate question , do they stand a chance of winning Tain let alone win in a way that can turn around the results of the Presidential vote on December 28th? Will the NPP promptly accept defeat after the results from Tain constituency is announced?
It is now painfully clear to all watchers of the Ghanaian political scene that, the New Patriotic Party wants to stall the transition process, dent the image and credibility of our democratic process, and to take Ghana along the path of conflict and bloodshed. This cannot and must not be allowed to happen. Are they any wise people and true democrats left in the NPP? Why not organize a press conference and denounce what the elitist, out of touch, self seeking, nation wreckers who constitute the leadership of the party is trying to do to bring mayhem to Ghana. I am an NPP member but I disapprove of what is going on.
Where are Kofi Annan, the Asantehene, the Center of Democratic Development, the Christian Council of Ghana, the minority parties that contested the December 7th general elections, the TUC, the NUGS, other opinion leaders in the society, and other civil soceity organizations ? These people and organizations in Ghana owe it a duty to themselves and to all Ghanaians to help prevent the coming senseless bloodshed and loss of property.
The people of Ghana have spoken and no court in the land can overturn the verdict of the people because sovereignty resides in the people but not in the courts. THE VOICES OF REASON MUST STAND UP FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE NOW !!!
