I hope my fellow Ghanaians have not forgotten about Togo 's former dictator General Gnassingbe Eyadema, who ruled his country with an iron fist. I am making reference of Eyadema because of the famous political trick he pulled off in 1998. Under pressure from the international community Eyadema hurriedly held national elections of which he stood as president. However when the election results started trickling in things looked horrible for Eyadema. He was losing badly, so he made an uncharacteristic move by suspending the vote counting and declared himself winner and president.
In case you do you know President Kufour almost pulled the same trick adopted by Eyadema on Tuesday. But for the vigilance of the NDC watchful eyes at the Electoral Commission's Strong Room, Kufour and Akufo-Addo's cronies would have changed the certified results of some constituencies in the Strong Room and declared Akufo-Addo winner and president. Now the big question is how did it happen and who led this attempted daytime robbery?
Fellow Ghanaians please do not look far because the culprit who goes by the name Kennedy Adumadze Agyepong has been running wild with fire blazing behind his shoes. He was the “Thief of EC' who attempted to use one of the EC officials to perform the Eyadema trick to satisfy Kufour and Akufo-Addo. But by Gods own power and grace that thievery did not materialize as the eagle eyes of the NDC guys at the strong room caught the EC official.
Having failed in that act, Kufour and Akufo-Addo are now coming out with plan B. Enter Mugabe. The Zimbabwean President is noted for his brutal repression of voices of dissent. So Kufour and Akufo-Addo are trying to borrow from Mugabe's political playbook. Why wouldn't they, after all Mugabe taught in Ghana and later married a Ghanaian lady Sally Mugabe. So Kufour and Akufo-Addo thought just borrowing from Mugabe's book would not be an act of cheating since Ghana took care of him when he was in political exile.
Reports reaching Joy FM and other news outlets indicate that Kufour and Akufo-Addo sent a couple of NPP supporters who marched towards the offices of the EC chanting and vandalizing anything that bears the symbol of the NDC. It may interest readers to know that while this acts of vandalism was going on in Accra , Kumasi was not asleep. Kufour and Akufo-Addo have organized their supporters in Kumasi to stir up trouble by beating some NDC sympathizers including Mr. Ohene Agyekum. And as usual the footprint of Kennedy Adumadze is all over. While he claims he was in Tema, credible information has it that Kennedy Adumadze was monitoring and pulling all strings from wherever he was hiding.
Meanwhile President Kufour, who has not said anything truthful for a long time, feigns innocence and comes out to state that he has information about people attempting to stir trouble, and he would use all means under the constitution to prevent that. No doubt he talks and spends Waa Waa. The question is who is attempting to cause trouble? Is it the NPP or the NDC? Look at the massive NDC supporters that converged around the EC on Monday and Tuesday. Did they cause any havoc? Did they cause any trouble? The answer is simply no. Therefore, for Kufour to pretend that he does not know who is trying to foment trouble in Ghana is baloney.
If Kufour has anything to worry about, it should be his legacy, which would forever be tainted. For the first time in the 50 plus one year history of the country, ballot boxes are being taken away under the brazen eyes of electoral officials. For the time in the history of the country, people driving motor bikes are snatching voter registers. And for the first time in the history of the country, fake ballots thumb-printed in favour of Nana Akufo-Addo were found in ballot boxes during counting in some polling stations in the Upper West Region. If you want more I would tell you. For the first time constituencies that voted just three weeks bloated their voter registers with astronomical figures that all went in favour of Akufo-Addo.
This is the kind of legacy that President Eyadema Mugabe would be leaving to Ghanaians. This is the kind of legacy that the man who promised to bring positive change but brought mayhem and told Ghanaians who are poor and looking for jobs as lazy and also informed Ghanaians that corruption is as old as Adam so they should not worry about corruption in his government.
Mr. Eyadema Mugabe, your game is up. You have pulled all sorts of tricks to hand over power to your party. But Ghanaians do not want anything of that. They believe enough is enough. They would retire you comfortably come Friday so that you can go and enjoy your loot.
By the way did you hear Kufour say that he is considering an offer from the World Bank? This man is a big joke. Just consider the timing of such an announcement. Instead of urging Ghanaians to vote on Sunday he told reporters just after he had voted that he is looking forward to retire as a respectable citizen and an elder statesman who can express his opinion on issues and offer advice as and when the need arises, and
that he has been offered a job on the board of the World Bank when he retires. This organization must also be joking for offering this Flying President who mismanaged the affairs of Ghana any job.

@ekwansema Are you not ashamed of yourself to write such a garbage? Kufuor is one of the best politicial leaders this continent has ever experienced. He moved Ghana from a ficitious towards a real democracy. Before Kufuor came to power people like you would have neither be allowed to critisize the government nor had there been any internet cafe, where the citizen of Ghana could read your garbarge. Within the last eight years ,Ghana has won the reputation of being the most stable democrac...
