
A 32-year-old Ghanaian has been deported from Malta Friday December 26, 2008, according to reports reaching ghanabusinessnews.com.
The man Opoku Emos Mensah, a resident of Italy was arrested on Christmas Eve at the Malta International Airport on suspicion of carrying drugs.
Members of the Maltese Drug Squad stopped him on arrival at the airport and searched him thoroughly. While the search for drugs yielded nothing, he was found to be carrying fake documents. He was found in possession of four fake Italian passports and four Italian residence permits and he was arrested immediately.
Mensah pleaded guilty to the charges and was deported Friday afternoon to Ghana.
