GNA Receives computers

Gold Fields Ghana Limited (GFL) on Wednesday donated two computers, three printers and accessories worth GH¢ 5000 to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) to enhance collation of results of the presidential election.

Dr. Tony Aubymn, Head, Corporate Affairs and Social Development GFL who presented the items said he recognised GNA as the leading wireless media company in Ghana and also appreciated the crucial role the organisation had played since independence.

Dr. Aubynn indicated that it is a clear demonstration of one aspect of GFL desires to ensure information gathering and flow.

"As a wireless organisation we believe that these items would be useful and also to cement the relationship between GNA and GFL", he stated.

Dr. Aubynn said the support followed another donation to the Ghana Journalists Association in the Western Region in 2007 made up of a computer, television sets and office accessories.

Mr Felix Forson, Administrative Manager of GNA received the items and expressed the Agency's appreciation for the donation.

He commended the active role the GFL had played in financing news dissemination, building of schools and clinics in the country.

Gold Fields Limited is a leading gold mining company which promotes community activities in the country.
