Zain docks in Ghana …promises best service

Zain Communications Group has finally docked in the country with its operations and services in the telecommunications industry. The company, which currently operates in 22 countries across the Middle East and Africa made its presence felt when it launched its operations and commercial services yesterday, at a ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre, with a promise of giving customers the best of services.

Chief Executive Officer of Zain Africa, Mr. Chris Gabriel observed at the launch that the company would be providing its customers with an ultra high-speed internet access.

For the first time in the country's industry, the company is set to provide services in making video-calls, sending video clips, music and pictures.

The CEO believes this would give Ghanaians a new lifestyle option, stressing that “with the launch, Ghana brings the number of countries in which 'one network' operates to 17. 'One network, Zain's borderless mobile services is available to over half a billion people across the Middle East and Africa, an area greater than United States of America”.

The company also promises to offer favourable rates, free of roaming surcharges for cross-border communications.

This would also offer customers access to the One Network services when traveling in Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda.

On his part, Dr. Saad Al Barrak, Group CEO of Zain welcomed all those who have registered with the network on board and promised them nothing but the best of services in the sub-region.

“Through our pan-African presence and synergies in human resources, technologies, marketing and best business practices, we assure the people of Ghana they would receive world-class telecommunication services”, he said with optimism.

In his remark, Country Manager for Ghana, Mr. Philip Sowah stressed that the company's goal was to focus on offering appealing and most competitive products and services to Ghanaians.

He disclosed that the Zain Group is a key contributor to the Millennium Villages Project, an initiative that aims to help Ghana achieve its Millennium Development Goals.

Mr. Sowah added that the company would provide the needed technology to build a telecommunications network in the Millennium Village in Bonsaaso in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

According to him, this initiative would bring mobile telephony and internet access to over 400,000 people in remotes areas of Africa to enable them to improve the quality of their lives. The Marketing Director of Zain-Ghana, Mr. Ransford Nyarko pledged that the company would provide warm and friendly customer services to all Ghanaians irrespective of their localities.
