Could the NDC's 'Akatamanso Umbrella' Resist the Tempest?

The invisibly mighty and invincible North-easterly wind has blown off the "Akatamanso" brolly of the NDC. It has exposed both the baldness and emptiness of those gathered underneath it. It has laid bear the vulnerability of its protégés to the rain and the sunshine. The umbrella was shielding the rot within the NDC party from being exposed by the sunshine. And the sunshine here is the TRUTH. The truth always stands out taller than lies. It will resist all odds to emerge victorious in any battle of nerves with lies. This is exactly what is being observed in Ghana at the moment where the NDC's desperate pack of lies has been exposed. Their unceasing allegations of wrongdoings against the NPP without ever attempting to, or being incapable of proving them are more than enough to justify their veritable waywardness and desperation.

The NDC are well awash in the crimes they accuse the NPP of. They are even themselves the authors and pioneers of such crimes as Frank Benneh; a once promising Career Diplomat claims to be its wretched living evidence. Mr. Frank Benneh claims to have been obliged by the NDC to act as a pusher courier of the "white powdered stuff" for them while he was the Consulate officer at the Ghana Embassy in Switzerland in the NDC era. Are the NDC ready to challenge the authenticity of his assertion manifested in his present wretchedness or pitiable personality, the resultant of his courier job thereby becoming a consumer of the product himself? I knew Frank as a handsome man when we used to frequent the same church in Paris many years back. He is now a frail, ugly-looking living ghost, and appears far older than his age hence, a disgrace unto himself and the NDC drug kingpins. Will the NDC then give us a break from their accusation, pointing their finger and laughing riotously at the NPP? Whenever they do, don't they realise that the other four fingers will be pointing backwards at themselves as the most ignorant hypocrites? It is a shame that Professor Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, who has nothing credible on policy to persuade Ghanaians about voting for him, is not only perpetuating but accusing the NPP of this baselessly negative propaganda based on the NDC's philosophy of cocainization. Had it not been for Spio Garbrah of NDC, I would never have known that anything preceded by HIGH denotes cocaine dealing. He had the following to say at an election campaign in Koforidua in the Eastern Region a few days ago. "Dr. Spio-Garbrah remarked that since most of the leaders in the NPP use drugs and 'go high' that is why they are qualifying Ghana's educational system with the word 'high'. These people are always 'h-i-i-g-h' on drugs that is why our Junior Secondary School has been changed to Junior 'H-i-i-g-h' School and the Senior Secondary School also changed to Senior 'H-i-i-g-h' School..' What a stupid gimmickry by a nutter beyond doubt? Does it mean that in the USA where he acquired his fake Doctorate degree all their High schools deal in cocaine? This is the perception and typical Ghanaian mindedness of a failing and desperate NDC sycophant bound to fall from grace to grass at the upcoming national elections.

The NDC by their usual orchestration of fondness for violence and senseless talks have lost any little credibility left if at all they had had any. I can hardly understand why they can't for Fawkes's sake, be matured in politics for all this while or at least for once? Can't they come out convincingly with policies on good education, creation of employment, provision of affordable homes for workers, provision of abundant quality drinking water, quality but cheap healthcare, self sufficiency in food production, national security, safety and protection of lives, and all the other useful essential infrastructure one can think of? Wouldn't such policies persuasively spelt out in writing and communicated to the voting public win them more heart and souls than their usual unfounded castigations of the NPP with the trailing allegations?

I am ready as a good citizen to offer them advice on policy strategy for free. To me, the interest of Ghana is primordial. It precedes the sectional or selfish interest of any one political party, individual or group of persons. Much as I want the NDC to be stronger and viable, in much the same vein I expect of them decorum and sense of political maturity. It is about time they grew out of their cocooned political naivety fraught with bullies, loose talk and aspiration for usurpation of political power.

Until the NDC distance themselves from the selfish aspirations of their cultic founder, Flt. Lt. J.J.Rawlings, any desire of theirs to rule Ghana soon is just a pure mirage. I however detest Ghana becoming a hub for "Class A" drugs in West Africa. Any perpetrator of contraband goods must be dealt with without fear or favour. The near-institutional corruption in Ghana must be addressed at all costs and of course, promptly.
