The La North branch of the Seventh Day Adventist Church has organised a medical care programme at Future Park near Palm Wine Junction, La, for the people in the community.
This is in preparation for the celebration of the church's 25th anniversary tomorrow.
There was also a one-week lecture on topics like HIV/AIDS, prostrate cancer, breast cancer, hypertension, diabetes, diarrhoea and peptic ulcer.
Dr Prince Daitey of the Cocoa Clinic, encouraged the people to go for voluntary screening at least twice a year, to be sure of their health status. He also advised women to examine their breasts and report any changes in them to the nearest hospital as early as possible.
