Ministry Distributes Vehicles To Health Institutions

The Ministry of Health yestereday distributed 25 Mitsubishi Double Cabin Pick-ups worth 570,000 dollars to 19 Health Assistants Training Institutions to help in their day-to-day activities.

Major (RTD) Courage Quashigah who handed over the vehicles to Dr Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyira, Director, Human Resource for Health Development called for proper utilisation and maintenance to ensure longevity.

Dr Elias Sory, Director-General, Ghana Health Service said training of health personnel is a priority to the service.

He therefore called for more resources to all health institutions to ensure quality healthcare, adding, 'We need to create wealth through good health.'

Mr James Yambor, Chairman, Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions said the vehicles will help in following up on students on clinical attachment in remote areas.

Mr Thomas Pelletier, Managing Director, CFAO Ghana Limited said the company will offer training to personnel in the Ministry on maintenance and best practices.
