The national Campaign Director for Nana  Akufo-Addo's campaign team, Kofi Konadu Apraku Tuesday expressed optimism that the New Patriotic Party will win next month"s election by a healthy margin.

According to the Offinso North MP, a survey conducted by a team of experts indicates that if elections were to be held today, the party would have won in seven regions out of ten in both the Presidential and Parliamentary poll.

He declined to name the regions, but hinted broadly that swing regions Greater Accra, Central and Western are part of the seven.

Dr. Apraku made this known after addressing a closed door meeting with regional and constituency executives of the NPP, regional and district NPP campaign teams and all Parliamentary candidates in Eastern Region at Koforidua.

The meting was to brief them on a major campaign review meeting held in Accra last week Thursday.

The meeting, Dr. Apraku said was called to assess how the party has performed in the target set for itself in the 2008 Presidential and Parliamentary campaign programme.

He said the report was very positive and indications were that if the election was to take place today, NPP would have won.

He said despite what people think and say, NPP wants to win the election in a manner that the opposition, particularly the National Democratic Congress will have no cause to complain.

The Campaign Director said NPP is aware that Ghanaians appreciate what the government has done in areas such as improvement in their welfare, education, infrastructural development, entrenchment of democracy, international respectability and above all the discovery of oil.

Dr. Apraku said Ghanaians have constantly applauded the great achievement of the government under President Kufuor, assuring that, it would be complemented by the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo.

He re-emphasised Nana Akufo-Addo's vision to improve on the National Health Insurance Scheme and make it more accessible in all parts of the country.

His vision to extend free education to cover Senior High Schools has also been met with overwhelming approval, especially by rural dwellers, saying they are banking their hopes on Nana Akufo-Addo to open up the ladder for property.

Dr. Apraku said the people are equally pleased with the transformation of the economy to its present stage. Further, Nana Akufo-Addo's promise to set up a Northern Development Authority to manage a $1 billion to enhance infrastructural development has made people in the three Northern regions to ask themselves why they have been supporting NDC all these years.

Dr. Apraku said they now appreciate that it is only Nana Akufo-Addo who has seen their needs and decided to set up the fund to solve some of their problems.  Dr. Apraku declared, "That's why in the North we are neck to neck'.

The campaign Director said the people in the three Northern Regions now say that, 'they have seen good things in Nana Akufo-Addo and they are going to respond with their votes.'

Dr. Apraku said NPP will continue to work towards free and fair elections. He urged NPP supporters to be focused, and not be detracted by the 'lies and insults' of the NDC.
