Nana Butler: Create fortune from football pools

Nana Sam Brew Butler, a former chairman of the Ghana Football Association has urged members of the football fraternity in Ghana to find ways of creating money in the industry which they control.

Speaking at the launch of Pinbridge Limited, the licensed operator of WINNER 1X2 Football Pools  in Ghana, he said Ghana Football has come a long way since 1994 when the country decided to commercialise the game and the Professional League board was established.

He said it is time that Ghana moves together with the world and do things right like it is done in other countries.

According to Nana Butler, the presence of Pinbridge should and value to the game in Ghana as they are a tested company in the business of sports betting and pools.

He noted the profits derived from the pools would be channelled to developing the game by building more facilities.

The chairman of the GFA business committee said all stake holders are expected to benefit from the deal which Pinbridge have ten years to operate.

The president of the GFA Kwesi Nyantakyi said he was happy with the deal because the operators are professionals in the industry of betting and pools.
