Nana Ameyaw Yeboah II, Chief of Sikaa, a farming community in Nkoranza District of Brong-Ahafo Region, has presented a 21 inch coloured television set to authorities of the local Presbyterian Primary School.

The television set valued at GHC 180 is to help improve effective and efficient distance teaching and learning among the pupils.

Nana Yeboah had earlier presented a ceiling fan worth GHC 25 to the school.

Presenting the item, Nana Yeboah, who is also Krontihene of Gyaase Division of Nkoranza Traditional Council, expressed concern about the poor performance of pupils in the area in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He said out of the 16 candidates presented in last year's examination, only four passed with aggregates between 27 and 30.

Nana Yeboah appealed to the traditional authorities, Parent Teacher Associations and School Management Committees to collaborate and finding a lasting solution to the problem.

He pledged to donate a computer, accessories and printer to the school.

Mr Jacob Awoo, Vice Chairman of PTA, who received the item on behalf of the authorities expressed appreciation to Nana Yeboah and gave assurance that it would be used for its intended purpose.

Mr K. Bayo, Headteacher, expressed gratitude to the immense contributions Nana Yeboah had made towards improvement in education in the area and appealed to other individuals and groups to support the school.
