The Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor John Evans Atta Mills, was last weekend accorded a rousing welcome in Cape Coast when he visited the area to interact with the people.

Professor Mills, who started his tour with a keep-fit exercise through some principal streets of the metropolis early in the morning, was greeted by thousands of people who joined him to jog for several kilometres.

Indeed, such was the strength in numbers of the multitude that vehicular movement came to a standstill for a considerable period.

The teeming supporters eventually prevailed upon the NDC flagbearer to convert the keep-fit into a rally, where he addressed them on his vision of a better Ghana and his commitment to securing prosperity for the nation, and relieving them of the harsh conditions of life imposed on them by the NPP government and its insensitive policies and programmes.

Professor Mills promised to be a President for all Ghanaians, without recourse to discrimination on grounds of their political, ethnic religious and other sectarian affiliations.
