Mr Degraft Kyei-Baffour, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for New Edubiase, has said the election of an opposition party in the December elections has the potential of slowing the pace of development in the country.

He said the level of development achieved by the NPP government in the past seven years, especially in the Adansi South District must not be compromised for empty political promises.

Mr Kyei-Baffour was addressing the electorate at Apagya, Ataase, Hwidiem, Bepoase, Bonsu, Kwame-Adu and Sumuoso, during his campaign tour of the constituency in Ashanti.

He therefore charged the electorate to return the NPP to power to ensure sustainable development, saying that, the solid foundation laid by government required another mandate to implement its viable policies for the overall benefit of Ghanaians.

Mr Kyei-Baffour assured the electorate that when given the mandate as an MP, he would ensure that communities in the constituency have their share fair of the national cake.

He educated the electorate on the voting procedures and said both the NPP presidential and parliamentary candidates are the first on the ballot papers and therefore, they should be wary of deceit by political opponents.

The aspiring parliamentary candidate advised NPP supporters, especially the youth, to conduct their campaigns in a civil manner and desist from insults and attacking personalities.
