The Gomoa Ajumako Rural Bank at Afransi, in the newly created District Capital, has been connected to the Western Union Money Transfer with internet facilities to enable it to deliver quality and quicker transactions with its clients.

Mr Robert Job Arkoh, General Manager of the Bank, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Gomoa Afransi on Tuesday.

He said the new refurbished Office at Agona Swedru, Chapel Square, which would be opened on November 10, this year, would offer efficient and faster service for the people in the area.

He said the money transfer facility was in conformity with the policy of the ARB Apex Bank to computerise and network rural and community banks nation wide.

Mr Arkoh said it would help the people in the newly created District Capital and surrounding towns, as well as customers at their three agencies, namely Gomoa, Eshiem and Ankamu to do business there.

He said the bank has embarked on a massive micro finance project, aimed at giving credit facilities to women to expand their businesses and also reduce poverty among them.

Mr Arkoh said the bank has also designed numerous products, which would benefit businessmen, women, small scale enterprises and salary workers in the area.

The Manager pointed out that the bank has given substantial amount of money as credit facilities, under the micro finance project to women at Afransi, Agona Swedru, Gomoa Eshiem and Ankamu and described the recovery rate as encouraging.

Mr Arkoh said the bank has adopted policies and programmes that would create more funds for farmers and fishermen to undertake their businesses and improve their livelihood.
