Ahafo Ano North District electoral security Taskforce inaugurated

Mr. Baffour Awuah of the National Security Council, at the weekend inaugurated the 11-member Ahafo Ano North District electoral security taskforce, at Tepa-Ashanti.

The group, chaired by Chief Superintendent Mathew Osew Adjei, Divisional Police Commander, has been charged to identify security flash points and maintain law and order in the area, towards smooth elections on 7 December.

Mr. Awuah urged members of the taskforce to be fair and firm in the discharge of their duties.

Mr. Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh, the District Chief Executive (DCE), charged the members to uphold truth and be fair and firm in the discharge of their duties.

The DCE called on individuals and organisations to collaborate efforts to ensue free, fair and peaceful elections.

In related development, the taskforce met leaders of New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), People's National Convention (PNC) and Convention People's Party (CPP), on how to collaborate effectively to ensure free and peaceful elections.

Supt. Adjei called on chiefs, religious leaders and political leaders to work together to ensure credible polls.

He pledged that members of the taskforce would be neutral and fair in the performance of their duties.
